Day 1  Arusha / Miriakamba Hut (2 514)

After breakfast in your hotel and at around 08:00 am, you will drive to Momela Gate on the slopes of Mount Meru. On arrival you will finalize the climb formalities including registrations.

With your mountain guide, porters and cook, you will start the climb up to Miriakamba Hut for lunch. The track passes open grassland, providing an opportunity to see buffalo, warthogs and other grazers. The trail continues as a steady climb through forest. Afternoon, the guide will take you for the tour of Meru Crater and observe the Ash Cone. Dinner and overnight stay at Miriakamba Hut. * L. D.

 Day 2   Miriakamba Hut / Saddle Hut (3 570)

After breakfast, continue with the trekking crossing the steepest and most demanding section of climb up to Saddle Hut for lunch. You slowly ascend through lush forest to reach the halfway point of Elephant Ridge. From here you will enjoy excellent views of the summit ridge and across the crater floor.  Afternoon optional climb to the summit of Little Meru (3,820 meters). Dinner and overnight at Saddle Hut. * B. L. D.

 Day 3   Saddle Hut / << Summit>> / Miriakamba Hut 

Early departure for the summit. At around 02:30 am, with your mountain guide / ranger you will start the final climb to reach Cobra Point (4,350 m) at sunrise. The views are stunning: the cliffs of the Crater rim, the Ash Cone rising from the Crater floor, Kilimanjaro floating on the morning clouds and west towards the Rift Valley (if the weather is clear). You will be expected to arrive there around 06:30 – 07:30 am. After taking pictures, you will descend down to Saddle Hut for breakfast and thereafter descend down to Miriakamba Hut for meals and overnight stay.

 Day 4   Miriakamba Hut / Arusha

After breakfast, descend down to Momela Gate to receive your certificate for reaching the summit of Mount Meru and thereafter you will drive back to Arusha for your next destination.
