Itinerary Overview
Join this safari to discover the wonders of Tanzania
Masai Mara River Crossing season begins on Mid July and lasts through August, to September. The wildebeest crossing of the Mara River is one of the most dramatic events of the Great Migration. Each year, over 1.5 million wildebeest, along with hundreds of thousands of zebras and gazelles, make their way from the Serengeti in Tanzania to the Masai Mara in Kenya in search of fresh grazing grounds. The crossing typically occurs around late July to August and can extend into September. The wildebeest face numerous challenges, including crocodile-infested waters and steep riverbanks. This spectacle is a highlight for many safari-goers, offering a unique glimpse into the raw and powerful forces of nature.
